Barry has been with Huon Regional Care for 21 years – 13 years as the CEO and the 8 before it as Director of Nursing. He has provided stable leadership while the organisation has significantly grown and expanded the range of flexible services to the ageing community across the southern region of Tasmania.
He is a graduate of the Institute of Company Directors. Previously Director of Nursing for a large, multi-faceted aged care facility in Queensland, Barry gained his gerontic and nursing expertise in district health services and hospitals over many years.
Brenton has recently joined Huon Regional Care as our Chief Operating Officer, returning to his native Tasmania from working and residing on the mainland. He brings a wealth of experience across government and not for profit sectors, with a special focus on community health and wellbeing.
Brenton has a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Arts Degree (BBus/BA) majoring in Human Resource Management and Political Science, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Laura Callaghan, RN, has been the Director of Nursing/Facility Manager at Huon Regional Care since 2016. During this time she has introduced innovative person-centred models of care throughout all three facilities.
She has lived and travelled throughout the NT & WA, working with Indigenous communities in remote areas such as the Tanami and Gibson Deserts. Laura is always pursuing new and creative ways to improve quality of care and best practices for the residents in their home.
Joining the team in 2019, Alice is the Finance Manager for Huon Regional Care. She has extensive knowledge in taxation, cash flow, budgeting, financial reporting, risk management, change management and business strategy.
Over her ten years’ experience in accounting and administration roles, she’s also developed rich analytical skills to investigate, review and develop solutions.
As the newest member of the management team, Fiona comes to Huon Regional Care from a decade long role as Corporate Services and Human Resources Manager at Workskills. In 2013 Fiona completed her Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management and has recently achieved her qualification as a Certified Practitioner of the Australian Human Resource Institute (CPHR). She is experienced in both corporate and non-profit settings and has an extensive background in HR generalist affairs.
Prior to her role in Tasmania, Fiona ran a landscape and design business in Melbourne for twelve years and has worked in Senior Management roles in hospitality in Melbourne and Perth.
